  3. Invalid Carriage
    As per the definition mentioned in section 2 (18) of MV Act 1988, an invalid carriage is basically a type of vehicle particularly constructed and designed for a physically disabled person. Thus, this kind of vehicle can only be used for anyone having a disability or dysfunctionality with a valid licence issued for the invalid carriage.
  4. Light Motor Vehicle (NT)
    Light motor vehicles are basically all the vehicles other than two-wheelers such as a motor car, tractor, motor cab, etc. Even the non-transport vehicles such as an agricultural tractor also come under this category. For Light motor vehicles, a separate kind of driving licence is required.
  5. Transport Vehicles
    Medium Goods Vehicle, Medium Passenger Motor Vehicle, Heavy Goods Vehicle and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle can be categorized as transport vehicles. These types of vehicles are basically public service vehicles and in some cases, they act as a goods carrier. Educational Institutional Bus are also categorized as transport vehicles.
  6. Road Roller
    A road roller is a compactor-type vehicle comes into use compact gravel, soil, concrete, or asphalt. They are usually used during the construction of roads and foundations. To be able to drive a Road Roller, you require a separate driving licence.
  7. Motor Vehicles of a specified description
    Motor vehicles such as an Auto Rickshaw that are not a part of the above class of vehicles come under this category. The above classes are mentioned in section 10 (a) to Section 10 (g) of MV Act 1988 and those vehicles that are not included in these sections are classified as motor vehicles of a specified description.

Driving Licence Renewal in Delhi

Since a driving licence is an official document that any person driving a vehicle must have, it is important to ensure that you renew your licence after it expires. If you are caught driving a vehicle with an expired driving licence, you will be subjected to heavy fines, or imprisonment, or both.
